Meet Your Therapist

Eddie Maynor, PT

All treatments at Flat Rock Physical Therapy for Pain are designed and implemented personally by Eddie Maynor, PT. Over the past 20+ years, Eddie has completed over 50,000 manual therapy treatments — bringing a depth of hands-on experience that is rare in today's physical therapy landscape. Chances are, he's treated a condition just like yours.

Eddie's advanced training spans dry needling, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), Primal Reflex Release Technique (PRRT), cold laser therapy, joint manipulation, myofascial release, and gua sha — a toolkit built over decades of clinical practice and continuing education. He was among the first physical therapists in North Carolina to adopt dry needling, and in 2005 his practice became one of the first private PT clinics west of Raleigh to invest in cold laser therapy. Every technique is applied with purpose, precision, and a genuine commitment to getting you better.

As a solo practitioner, Eddie made a deliberate choice to keep the practice small so that every patient receives his full, undivided attention. No aides, no assistants — just focused, one-on-one care from a therapist who is fully invested in your recovery.

A Different Approach

As few visits as possible.

The goal here isn't to fill your calendar three times a week until your insurance runs out. That's not care — that's a business model.

The goal is to get you doing what you want to do — as quickly and efficiently as possible — and then send you on your way. Every treatment is designed to move you forward, not keep you dependent. When you don't need to come back, that's a win.

That means using the most effective techniques available, applying them with skill and precision, and giving you the tools to maintain your progress on your own. The measure of success isn't how many visits you complete — it's how fast you get back to living your life.

The Philosophy Behind the Practice

Pain-Focused, Not Volume-Focused

Most physical therapy practices today are franchise-owned or operated by large corporate health systems. In those settings, care is often managed by rotating staff, delegated to aides, or driven by patient volume rather than outcomes. At Flat Rock Physical Therapy for Pain, that model simply doesn't exist. Every treatment plan is designed and delivered personally — not handed off.

Hands-On from Start to Finish

The name says it all: this practice is built around manual therapy. Rather than relying on heat packs, electrical stimulation, and generic exercise handouts, treatment here is active, skilled, and hands-on. Techniques like dry needling, IASTM, joint manipulation, myofascial release, and PRRT are applied with precision and purpose — because that's what actually moves the needle on pain.

Your Full Attention, Every Visit

When you come to Flat Rock Physical Therapy for Pain, you work directly with Eddie Maynor, PT — every single visit. No aides, no assistants, no surprises. You get a licensed, experienced physical therapist who knows your history, understands your goals, and is fully invested in your recovery from the moment you walk in the door.

Results That Last

The goal isn't just to get you feeling better temporarily — it's to identify and address the underlying cause of your pain so it doesn't keep coming back. With over 50,000 manual therapy treatments and 20+ years of clinical experience, Eddie has seen and treated a wide range of conditions. Chances are, he can help you too.

Our standard

The solo practice model isn't just a preference — it's a deliberate choice to prioritize your outcomes over patient volume. When one therapist is accountable for your results from the first visit to the last, the standard of care is simply higher.
